Global Water Crisis
FotoSpout.com + Water.org
When we created FotoSpout, we set out to develop an online community that would truly have a positive social impact. We know there are many, many worthwhile causes, but we picked the Global Water Crisis — which even influenced our name. Not marketing spin, it is, sincerely, a passion project, which we we hope will evolve into something that will truly help to transform lives. We currently contribute 25% of all licensing fees generated on FotoSpout.com toward organizations committed to bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. The organization we currently support is Water.org.
There are approximately 700 million people on the planet without access to clean water. Every 90 seconds, a child loses their life as a result of water-related diseases. The global water crisis primarily affects women and children in developing nations. In fact, women and children spend 125 million hours each day collecting water. Most importantly, the problem can be tackled!
For more than twenty years, Water.org has been at the forefront of developing and delivering sustainable solutions to the global water crisis. Founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, Water.org pioneers innovative, community-driven and market-based solutions to provide universal access to safe water and sanitation, giving women hope, children health and communities a future. To date, Water.org has positively transformed millions of lives around the world, ensuring a better life for generations ahead.
